Shop and Go

Colin was heading out for 3 miles easy in prep for his long run tomorrow so i joined him then added another three on the end.

He was required by his missus to nip into Asda for cheese and oil en route and so we did the Asda route. Not sure what went through the security guards mind as we ran out goods in hand but he chose not to make chase...only does that for cases of stella. Consideration should be taken by the readers that the second half of the first three miles was done carrying a bottle of oil...

I did the Tesco loop myself picking up the pace a little and resisting the urge to shop in Tesco as I ran by!

Bulling Shoes? Plenty of spit plemty of time. Don't use Mr Sheen, Makes a lovely finish but blotches when it rains.
Better still, find someone who is good at it and trade!

Sounds like you're enjoying your training Rachel. Gullane is a lovely place to be billeted, the beach is excellent.

Bulling shoes....don't use cheap dusters because the weave isn't tight enough. Either use expensive ones, or better still use a washed and fabric softened Jewellers silver polishing cloth.

Use Kiwi Parade Gloss and only use it for bulling....not for polishing too otherwise the brushes deposit grit into the polish.

Work in small circles, working the polish in before applying water, either in the form of spit or fresh water...not too much, though.

Be patient, it takes a while for the layers to build up and the shine to deepen.

Finish it off with wet cotton wool to clear any fine scratches off.

Don't listen to anyone that says 'use after shave instead of spit' it doesn't work. As Davie has said, beware of using floor polish like Klear. You'll get almos immediate results but if it rains your shoes will go 'cloudy.'

Once you get used to doing it you'll have it done pretty quickly.

Good luck.
